The ITS 220V Circulation Pump is designed for circulating heated liquids in solar water heating and similar circulation systems. The pump uses liquid-cooled bearings and requires water flow through the pump during operation to ensure proper cooling and lubrication of internal components.
The pump must never be operated without water flow, as running the unit dry or preventing liquid circulation during operation can cause damage to the pump bearings and internal components.
This 22mm ITS 220V AC Electric Circulation Pump is suitable for cold pressurized circulation of hot water under 110 degrees Centigrade. It is especially suited to operation in hot water heating systems, such as: Automatic pressurized and circulating water systems, solar water heating systems, water-cooled air-conditioning and central air-conditioning systems, water mains supply and liquid circulation for industrial equipment.
Features
This pump utilizes the benefits of stainless steel to keep moisture away from the electrical components. A Mechanical seal is not required, thus completely eliminating any possibility of leaking. The main components of the pump housing consist of high rigidity stainless steel for the motor shaft, graphite bearings. The water cycles between stator and rotor, this is not only for cooling, but also for bearing lubrication. The pump is noise free under normal operation. Advanced scientific design allows for continuous use of 30,000 hours trouble-free and maintenance-free. Operating Conditions
- Pump bearings are liquid cooled during operation
- The pump must not be run without water flowing through it
- Preventing water flow while the pump is running will cause damage
- The surrounding ambient temperature must be lower than the temperature of the circulated liquid
- The circulation pump must be installed in a horizontal position
- The electrical connection may be positioned on the side or on top of the pump
- Electrical connections must be completed by a qualified electrician in accordance with SANS specifications
- After installation, all air must be bled from the pump before it is started

Pump Replacement Procedure
- Deactivate the mains power supply to the pump.
- Ensure the shut-off valve at the opposite end of the pump is closed.
- Check that the pump is not overheated before handling, as this could cause scalding.
- Loosen and remove the pump.
Troubleshooting
Circulation pump will not start

Warranty
The circulation pump carries a 12-month warranty from date of purchase.
- Warranty is carry-in and applies only to the original owner
- The pump must be returned in original packaging for inspection before warranty processing
- All operating procedures must be followed
- The pump is rated IP44
- It is not suitable for outdoor installation unless fully protected from environmental conditions
- The pump must be installed with an ITS approved non-return valve after the outlet
Warranty Exclusions
- Accidents, abuse or misuse
- Improper installation or maintenance
- Freezing, rust, corrosion or scale build-up in piping or internal components
- Lightning, electrical surges, blown fuses or open circuit breakers
- Wind or corrosive environments
- Failure to operate the pump according to ITS Solar written instructions
The warranty becomes null and void if the unit leaves South Africa unless prior approval is obtained from ITS Solar and Heat Pumps.
