A solar water heating system does not have to be an unsightly, with the use of a differentail controler and an efficient electric circulating pump, the hot water cylinder can be placed almost anywhere in the home and still provide free solar heated water.
Sustainable.co.za stocks some of the most efficient electric water pumps available in South Africa today. Our prices are affordable, but even better than that are the savings on your electricity bills.
Components of a hot water circulation system
Hot water circulation systems consist of pumps, electrical controllers and zone valves. When in operation, the system circulates between the pipes and the water heater until the water reaches a predetermined temperature, after which the controller closes the valve and the electric pump is switched off. When the temperature drops the whole system starts up again.
The premise is simple: electric water pumps circulate hot water through your household water pipes, so that whenever you turn on your hot taps, warm water is instantly available. Only one electric pump is necessary to manage the hot water flow in an entire household, no matter how large or small.
Additional uses
Electrical pumps are also used for conventional purposes, i.e. as room or household heaters. Hydronic systems – heating systems that use water to generate heat – particularly suited to under-floor heating and in bathroom heaters, such as towel heaters. In hydronic systems, power is generated by an electrical centrifugal pump and, depending size on requirements, can be supplemented by an electric motor.
Sustainable.co.za carries electric pumps that can be used with a manual or programmable timer, as well as a thermostat to ensure that your hot water stays the perfect temperature. In the interests of energy efficiency, however, it should be noted that automatic timers can use more energy than manual timers or on/off switches.
Make the most of your hot water supply, choose from our selection of electric pumps and enjoy that most basic of luxuries: hot water on tap.
