Components of a hot water circulation system
Hot water circulation systems consist of pumps, electrical controllers and zone valves. When in operation, the system circulates between the pipes and the water heater until the water reaches a predetermined temperature, after which the controller closes the valve and the electric pump is switched off. When the temperature drops the whole system starts up again.

Additional uses
Electrical pumps are also used for conventional purposes, i.e. as room or household heaters. Hydronic systems – heating systems that use water to generate heat – particularly suited to under-floor heating and in bathroom heaters, such as towel heaters. In hydronic systems, power is generated by an electrical centrifugal pump and, depending size on requirements, can be supplemented by an electric motor.
