Components of a hot water circulation system
Hot water circulation systems consist of pumps, electrical controllers and zone valves. When in operation, the system circulates between the pipes and the water heater until the water reaches a predetermined temperature, after which the controller closes the valve and the electric pump is switched off. When the temperature drops the whole system starts up again.
The premise is simple: electric water pumps circulate hot water through your household water pipes, so that whenever you turn on your hot taps, warm water is instantly available. Only one electric pump is necessary to manage the hot water flow in an entire household, no matter how large or small.
Additional uses
Electrical pumps are also used for conventional purposes, i.e. as room or household heaters.
